Since 2006, PavementGroup has been honored to help support the work of Helping Honduras Kids
Mark Reeves is the treasurer of Helping Honduras Kids and his staff at PavementGroup volunteers to provide bookkeeping for the HHK organization.
"I first learned of the wonderful work of HHK in 2003 from a friend I made at the World of Asphalt show. Today, HHK has 23 children, ages 3 - 18, living at our Hogar de Amor orphanage, who provide love and education from a caring staff. HHK’s Jungle School is built on a hillside along the Cangrejal River, where it provides free education to 190 impoverished children in grades K-9, who couldn’t otherwise afford to go to school. HHK provides support to Grandmas who are the sole caretaker of their grandchild(ren). These families are generally living in a small hut where the grandmother has no source of income; the Grandmas Program provides some basic necessities to help sustain the family unit in a caring environment. In these situations, the parents may have abandoned the child(ren), are in jail, or deceased. HHK also offers outreach assistance to several very poor peasant communities."
